I'll take a look at your blog, website, facebook, or other online portfolio and get a feel for your style. Send me any ideas or concepts you would like to see, including business name if you have one already set, colors, etc, or we can start from scratch to create something entirely new just for you!
Why use a watermark??? Well, as photographers we build a business around creating and selling our images. When clients (or even scarier) completely random people decide they don't want to pay for said images, or heaven forbid, try to copy our work as their own, we end up losing time, money, credibility, and unfortunately, we also lose faith in the goodness of others. How would you feel if you had a client call you because they thought you had "sold" their image without their knowledge? Or what about finding YOUR images in another person's portfolio or website? Don't think it would or could happen to you... check this out: http://www.petapixel.com/2010/09/15/photographer-offers-groupon-deal-using-stolen-photographs-chaos-ensures/
Sure, a good logo gives you that little umph of professionalism and can even attract new customers, but using a watermark and protecting your images isn't just common sense anymore. It's vital. And lets face it, plastering "Do not copy" across your pictures hardly screams professional. I figure if I've got to add something, why not add something that is actually pleasing to the eye.
